The Beastly Hated 12-1-11

For American Born Chinese we chose the theme, Lost honor. This theme works because, The Monkey lost his honor from the monkey's that obeyed him before he went to the club. Jin lost his honor from Wei-Chen because he kissed his girlfriend, and they got in a fight. Danny lost honor for Chin-kee because he was so embarrassing that Danny had to move to different school, because Chin-kee always ends up embarrassing him. Then one last reason it fits is because Danny lost honor from Chin-kee because Chin-kee always makes his friends not want to like or hang out with Danny after Chin-kee has visited.
For Stitches we chose the theme, Power of Words. This theme works because, David's parents were always yelling at him, and telling him he was always doiong something wrong. David started ignoring everyone and not saying anything at all, So there's another theme that would work, the power of silence. There is another reason that the power of words would work, because when David went to the psychiatrist he told him that his mother didn't love him, and David went home and cried. This reason leads into another reason for why the power of silence works. After the psychiatrist told David this, he was even more silent than he was before.

The theme that we think for American born Chinese is relationship. The first relationship is between Jin and Wei Chen Sun. They helped each other get through elementary school. The second relationshp was between anny and Melanie. Danny through the whole book was trying to get her to like him, and that was pretty hard because of Chin Kee, Chin Kee also had a relationship with Danny. The only difference was that this was a bad one. The fourth and final relationship was between Wei Chen and Suzy.

1.It's raceist to Chinese people.
2.It pushes the racism to border.
3.They make fron of the Chinese culture.
4.they make chinkee the worst w/ racism against chinese people.
For "Stitches" the second theme is Adolenscence because.
1.He discovers he has cancer
2.The pain of everybody keeping it from him.
3.The loneliness Of nobody caring.
4.The pain of everybody lying to him.

MONKEY MAN STITCHES December 1 2011

Two themes that would work with book are growing up pain and pleasure and greed as downfall. two examples are when jin was growing up and had to move to a new school. the other one was when jin kissed wei-chans girlfriend and then got in a fight with him and ended their friendship. example of greed as downfall was when monkey king went to the party and they wouldn't let him in so he beat everyone up. and the other example was when the monkey king was stuck under the rock and refused to turn into a monkey.

Why do you think your parents treated you that way? 3.)Why didn't your parents tell you that you had cancer? 4.) Why did your grandmother light your house on fire? 5.) Why did you start painting?sd

Why would you want to change your hair style? What is it that you like about Amellia? Why does the Monkey King brag so much? Why don't you act like you don't know Chin Kee? Do you ever want to go back to China. We asked these questions because every time someone moves they always think about moving back. We think that he should be himself.

The first question that we would ask David would be, Would you rather have had your parents tell you that you had cancer or not. Why? The second question would be Do you think your parents and your grandparents abuse you? Why or why not? The third question we would ask would be, Do you ever feel like you are hated and no one pays attention to you? Why or why not? The fourth question is, Would you have reacted differently if they told you had cancer? Why or why not? The last question we would ask would be, Were you scared when you found out you had cancer? Why or why not?

MONKEY MAN STITCHES 11/29/20!!

WE would ask jin why he kissed Suzy Nakamura. Does he regret using the soap on his pits. Does he regret bailing out on beating up greg. Does Jin regret not asking amelia out a second time. Why didnt he go to monkey form to get out 500 years before he did. WE would ask them because we are curious and they are legitiment questions.

A very big problem that teenagers face everyday is drama. Every one hates drama, but everyone likes it in a way. When we overcome drama we are all nice to each other again. If we do not overcome drama, guys will usually beat each other up and then go back to being friends. Girls Howver tend to stretch it out and start roumors about each other. TACO HOUSE!!

Teenagers face bullying everyday, and it's one of the biggest reasons kids skip school. They sometimes try and ignore it, but that just makes it worse. When they sometimes tell teachers, the teachers tell them they have to work it out on their own. Some benefits of overcoming bullying would be: Being able to face the bully, being able to keep up on school work, not being afraid of going to school, and not being scared, or embarrased of themselves. Some downfalls of not overcoming bullying would be: Being scared of going to school, not being able to keep on school work, possibly hurting or killing themsevles, or doing something that they can't take back.

A challenge that teenagers face in their daily life is the ugliest thing of all, BULLIES! Its not all that bad though some of the benefits of being bullied is you can learn to deal w/ people like that. Another thing is being able to stand up and overcome the bully. The downside of it is that they can really get in your head and make you feel terrible. It can get so bad that it can lead to depression even suicide. Bullies can also get physical w/ you and that can lead to broken bones even putting you in the hospital. This is why people need to be nicer to each other

MONKEY MAN STITCHES 11-23-11

Every day teenagers face challenges like homework and bullying. By doing your homework before its due is good because you dont have to stay after school and can take away stress. Its good to talk to and adult about bullying and get it taken care of to relieve stress and go on with life without being bullied. The bad part of not doing your homework is that you have to stay after school and get it done or you could fail a class. If you dont overcome bullying you could end up getting bullied all the way through school.MINECRAFT!!!!!!!!and taco bell.

Our favorite part of the book American Born Chinese is when the Monkey King is showing up for the dinner party of the gods. We all found it very funny when he said "Herow". It is kind of sad that our groups favorite part is racist. This could be because we just started on this book. TACO HOUSE!

Our favorite event in the book so far was when the Monkey King tried to run away from the god. He thought he was at the egde of the earth, but he was still in the god's reach. The Monkey King then peed on the poles, but the poles turned the god's fingers. The god turned out to be right when he said that the Monkey King is always in his reach. We liked this part because it was funny and very amusing.

MONKEY MAN STICHES 11-21-11

Our favorite part of the book is the monkey king. We liked the monkey king because he was boss. He knew all the kung-fu moves and he kicked everyones butts. He kicked everyones butts because they made him mad by calling him a monkey. He said that he wasnt a monkey and ran away. He learned the 12 disiplines of kung-fu. Then he kicked everyones butt for calling him a monkey. MINECRAFT!!!!!!

Some of the strengths are getting our work done on time. We always have a good converation about the questions in our group. Then we have always been very receptive about clarifying the questions of our group members. Our downfall though is that we tend to be off task alot. We will try to stop this by reminding people to stop talking about random things. TACO HOUSE!

Our 3 strengths are we get along well. We started making very good connections. Another strength of ours is that we is that we work together very good. We need to work on discussing the book in more detail.

One of the strengths we have is we always get our assignments done! Another one of our strengths are most of are group cooperates with each other most of the time! Our final strength is when we share our feelings about the book we all talk! One weakness we have is we are constantly off task. The fght against cancer is related to this book because the main chatracter has cancer. We think that cancer should be stopped, and this book is a good example of what affects can cer has on a family and an individual person.  His struggle against cancer has impacted him greatly because he cant talk now because they took his vocal cord out to take out the cancer. Cancer is a very serious disease and this book shows it and they should come up with a cure for it.

    Our text to world connection is when people have good friends, and then they find someone more popular that they think is better than their other friend/friends. Then, they start treating their first friend/friends badly. They get too cocky and lose their first friends. Then, they they find out that their second friend/friends aren't really their friends. They then try to go back to their first friends, but, since the person was mean to them first, they don't let them come back to their "group".

The book American Born Chinese is similar to the world in multiple ways. The world can be very judgmental and racsit to the race that isn't their own. Wei-chen is similar to that of the Chinese that boy born from the american heritage. They are showing some examples of what life can be like for those kind of children. I really don't understand at thisd point what Chin-kee because he hasn't really shown any life lessons for children or adults reading this book. But all in all this book is descent and ki of funny but it is kind of poushing the race card.df

text to world-people all around the world get stitches every day. And all around the world people get cuts and stuff and when the first operation doesnt work you have to get a second one. this book kinda relates to purple heart because he has to overcome his injury. It relates to purple heart again because they both dont know how they got their injuries. This blog was really hard so we hope you like it. TACO BELL!!!!!!!!!!!

We chose the name Monkey Man Stitches  because we were thinking about monkeys that day and in our group we are all MEN. Also monkeys are cool especially ourangatangs :) And obviously we chose the Stitches part because at this time we are reading Stitches. TACO BELL!

We chose our name because Mrs. McGill wouldn't allow us to have The Sexy Black Kittens. We felt very hated, so we chose to use hated, but we are pretty beastly so we decide to use The Beastly Hated. All of us believe that our name fits what happened very well. We believe our name is very unique.
